Rail services in Essex are subject to delays and cancellations after a person was hit by a train this morning.

Greater Anglia announced a person had been hit at Ilford station at about 9.40am.

No trains are currently passing through the station.

A spokesman said: "Trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, or revised at short notice.

"Transport for London Underground services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

"Arrangements have been made for Abellio Greater Anglia rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys."

Operator c2c is also currently accepting Greater Anglia tickets where needed.
