POLICE would like to speak to these two women in connection with a theft at a supermarket in Basildon.

Two customers failed to put all the items they had selected from the shop floor through the self-service check out.

They left the store without paying for groceries valued at about £80.

The theft happened at 4.30pm on Monday February 10 at Asda in Pipps Hill Retail Park in Miles Gray Road.

Anyone who can identify the women should contact the investigating officer Pc Kristy Palombella at Basildon retail crime unit on 101.

The quality of food in Waitrose & M & S are far superior quality especially the cuts of meat cheese cold meats etc.

What a pathetic thing you say that to do a weeks shop that people only go to waitrose to pretend to have money, so pathetic with a lot of jealousy inside you. If your going to eat then why not eat better quality food. It cost me around £160 a week to shop waitrose and marks and if I shopped at aldi it would be £120, BUT I would still want to spent the £40 extra for better quality. You do not have to be rich to shop in Waitrose or Marks, you have to decide if you want to eat cr&p or better decent quality food.

Aldi do have some nice bits and I like some of them but not for a weeks shopping.

Nothing to do with being rich or skint its a choice of better tasting food. I don't buy a car cos of cheaper road tax, I buy one that's nicer to drive, I do the same with my taste buds.

45 pence.

The irony probably missed that you read it and commented on it on a free website.

It might be possible that there isn't quite enough new that is important and affecting the whole community and sometimes they will put little stories like this in.

Personally Im looking forward to Peter Jackson turning it into a 3 movie blockbuster.

Please keep that thought. Most level headed people want Aldis to remain what it always was..... the shop for people who work hard for little pay, i.e. the vast majority of good people in this country.
If the trougholites learn the secret of fair living they will soon force Aldi to raise it's prices so they can maintain their obscene standard of living at decent peoples expense. You claim to be "Rich" then go to Harrods and leave something for the rest of us poor, honest people to live on!
~The rich conned the rest of the people into paying for the war with France.
It is beginning to look like they are at it again, ripping billions of pounds off of the poorer people. Money they don't need unless they are saving for a battle royal. Shopping at the suprmarket rip-off stores will only help their cause!

If you paid 45p for a copy of this online publication then you've probably been the victim of fraud. It's difficult to secure a prosecution without evidence so I hope you can produce a receipt.

Absolutely. Some people don't know the difference between serving themselves and helping themselves. The real losers are the honest customers who indirectly end up paying for any loss the store makes.
