TWO teachers at Beauchamps School in Wickford have been named as among the best in the country. 

Maths teacher Andy Beedham was named secondary school teacher of the year at the Essex Teaching Awards.

Mr Beedham acts as a team leader, coach and mentor at the school in Beauchamps Drive.

He was nominated by deputy head teacher Mat Harper, who said Mr Beedham achieved outstanding results.

Mr Harper said: “Mr Beedham is a true inspiration to his students and colleagues.”

Religious education teacher Sarah Tener received the special recognition award for outstanding new teacher of the year.

They will now be entered into the National Teaching Awards.

Well done Mr Beedham, a top math teacher and top bloke, even if he did tell us he has kangaroos in his garden and dated Keira Knightley... Still helped me get a decent grade on my GCSE back in the day :)
