CASTLE Point Council is looking for private investors to put money into a study into a possible third road off Canvey.

The council wants to know if it would be possible to create the new link between Northwick Road, Canvey and the Manor Way, Corringham.

The study would look at howmuch the so-called North Thameside Link Road would cost and the most suitable route for it.

Canvey county councillor Ray Howard said: “There are two things I am determined to do before I leave public life and that is to get another access road off the island and extend Roscommon Way, on Canvey.

“We are looking into funding for this study, which would be the next stage in the process.

“Building the road would bring huge benefits, not just for the people on Canvey, but for people in Thurrock as well.”
