A MAN has been fined £300 for possession of drugs and a crowbar in a public place.
Ross Barrowman, 30, of High Street, Shoebury, admitted being in possession of a crowbar in Chapel Road, Shoebury, on October 15, when he appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
He also admitted being in possession on the same day of cannabis resin and 102 tablets of phenazepam – used to treat epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal and insomnia – both of which are class C drugs.
Magistrates ordered the crowbar and drugs destroyed and fined Barrowman £110 for possession of the weapon and a further £100 for both the cannabis and phenazepam. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
