A 64-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a pedestrian was knocked over in Billericay.
Emergency services were called to Stock Road, near to the junction with St Andrews Drive, at about 5.35pm on Monday.
A 50-year-old woman was taken to hospital by paramedics and kept in overnight. Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
A 64-year-old man from Billericay was arrested on suspicion of being unfit through drink. He has been freed on police bail until February 26 pending further inquiries.
The road was closed between St Andrews Drive and St Johns Road while police cleared the accident scene and re-opened at 7.30pm.
