Teen’s racist rant at security guard

Southend Standard: Teen’s racist rant at security guard Teen’s racist rant at security guard

A TEENAGER racially assaulted a black security guard as he tried to remove him from a shopping centre.

Dylan Dunn, 18, admitted one count of racially aggravated assault at Basildon Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard Dunn, of Ashlands Court, Tilbury, had been in the Eastgate Centre, Basildon, with a group of friends on August 14.

The security guard asked them to leave because they were causing a nuisance, the court heard.

Dunn began arguing with the security guard and squared up to him.

The court heard Dunn swore at the man before making off.

The police were called and the security guard identified Dunn from his Facebook profile picture on a pal’s mobile phone.

Dunn was given a conditional discharge for two years, and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Always wondered why you never hear about blacks in court for being racist to whites. Is it because it doesnt happen? or is because they turn a blind eye to it?

Well, being white I can say it has never happened to me or any of my white friends (that I know off). It has happened to most of my friends with dark skin.

Interestingly all off my friends with dark skin are English, sometimes 3rd generation. Some of my white friends are not English, or British.

I think that shows the level of intelligence of people who make any form of decision based on only someone's appearance.

"The court heard Dunn swore at the man before making off."

So the security guard called the police after he made off?
So what was in this conversation to the services?

Operator: "999 whats your emergency?".
Security Guard: "A boy just called me black, he's gone now though"

WHAT A WASTE OF RESOURCES!!! Shouldnt be a security guard if he needs the police to secure the shopping centre!!!

Good, they were being a nuisance and intimating other shoppers, & the security guy is out earning a living, everyone should be able to do that without being abused, racially or not.

It is called positive predjudice. It was introduced in the 1960's in an attempt to stop our racist attitude. Sadly, just lately, it seems the polarity needs reversing!

Hmm. The article indicates that there was no physical assault, only racial abuse. If this his the case, would the police and courts have cared if he called the guard an ugly or fat g1t? No, they woujld have shrugged their shoulders. Yet such abuse is worse for it is more personal and specific to the victim. This is so wrong, either all verbal abuse is criminal and should be prosecuted, or we brush it all aside (in legal terms).
Racially oriented abuse should be treated no differently from other verbal abuse, as a society we need to step back and take a logical calm look at this subject, because we are drifting into the stage where valid opinions cannot be expressed without bizarre comparisons being drawn between the speaker and the likes of Hitler, and we are losing the ability to differentiate between good people and the likes of the unpleasant individual mentioned in the article.
