A TAX worker who conned her colleagues out of £164,000 has been jailed for two and a half years.
Ruth Kevan, 58, fraudulently ran a bank savings club whilst working at HM Revenue and Customs in Southend.
The legitimate scheme encouraged fellow civil servants to save for Christmas but she made up attractive interest rates so people would invest.
Kevan of Central Avenue, Southend, used the money to fund holidays, rugby match tickets and clothes.
