OFFICERS have charged a man who was arrested following a crash with a police car.
Justin Mitchell, 37, of Sutton Court Drive, Rochford, is accused of failing to stop his Nissan Qashqai when requested by police.
He was involved in a minor collision with a patrol car in Priory Crescent, Southend, shortly before 8am on Friday.
The road was closed for an hour whilst the scene was cleared and initial investigations were carried out.
A male police officer sustained a minor hand injury and was treated at Southend Hospital.
Mitchell, who was arrested at the scene and taken to Southend Police station for questioning, has now been charged with driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and failing to stop for police.
He has been released on bail and will appear at Southend Magistrates Court on November 15.
