Alan Gillman, 58, of Stambridge Road, Rochford, was found guilty of harassment after sending more than 20 letters to a woman. He was given a restraining order, fined £150 and ordered to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Steven Bolt, 27, of Bridgwater Drive, Westcliff, admitted causing damage costing £600 to a property by causing criminal damage to a bed, coffee table, laundry baskets and denting walls in Leigh on August 25. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, a restraining order, and must pay his victim £400 compensation, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £15.
Philip Malcolm Day, 29, of Ceylon Road, Westcliff, admitted stealing groceries worth £43 from a BP service station. He breached an earlier conditional discharge by committing the crime – which had been imposed for stealing meat. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £43 in costs.
Lynsey Emma Wright, 29, of Sporhams, Basildon, admitted she had been driving while unfit through drugs at Dovervelt Road, Canvey on September 8. She also admitted failing to stop after hitting a front garden wall with her BMW. She was banned from driving for three years, must complete 120 hours unpaid work, pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
Rafal Zdunek, 42, of Ruskin Avenue, Southend, admitted drink driving and failing to stop after causing an accident in Dickens Close, Southend, on August 22. He was disqualified from driving for two years, and has to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
Richard Petchey, 56, of Church Mews, Basildon, admitted driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was caught driving on St Nicholas Lane, Laindon, on August 17, with 70mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg.He was fined £110, banned from driving for 18 months and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Michael Howe, 23, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to driving dangerously, driving other than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and two counts of possessing a Class B drug. He was caught driving in Lincoln Road, Basildon, on September 6. He was jailed for eight weeks and banned from driving for 15-months.
Paul Austin, 40, of Palatine Park, Laindon, admitted driving other than in accordance with a licence. He was caught driving on Queens Park Avenue, Billericay, on March 7 despite only holding a provisional licence. He was fined £133, given three penalty points and was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Jack Bailey, 18, of Vicarage Hill, Benfleet, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a traffic signal. He jumped a red light on the A13 at Leigh on March 16. He was fined £37, given three penalty points and was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
