4:01pm Thursday 19th September 2013 in Echo News
POLICE are still looking for the owners of two horses which were killed on the A127 after being hit by a car.
The male driver remains in hospital with serious injuries following the accident which happened at around 6am on Saturday.
Enquires are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
But cops have raised concerns that the owners of the horse have not yet come forward.
They are keen to speak to the owners to find out how the animals managed to end up wandering in to the carriageway.
PC Mark Ammon from the Road Policing unit at Laindon, said: "We are very concerned that the owners of these horses have not contacted us.
“I can only imagine how distressing this incident must have been for them and we would urge the owner or anyone who has any information to contact us as soon as possible”.
Anyone with information should contact Pc Helen Byatt, at Laindon on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where they can give information anonymously.
