We’ve been living here a month and are still waiting for new boiler

A YOUNG mum is still waiting for hot water to work in her home – nearly a month after moving in.
Kimberley Hamilton, 20, moved in to the house in North Crockerford, Vange, with five-month-old Scarlett Rose on August 12.
But a broken boiler has left them without hot water the whole time, leaving Kimberley to trek to her mum’s house in Billericay every day to wash.
Miss Hamilton pays £450 a month for the tw obedroom property, provided by South Anglia Housing.
Miss Hamilton said: “When I first got the keys I was so excited for us to move into our new home, but then I found out nothing works. It’s been a bit of a nightmare.
“They’re saying it could take another month to take the old boiler out and put a new one in, so this is just going to carry on for ages.”
South Anglia says it offered to put up the pair in a hotel, but they refused.
Sandra Hamilton, 43, Kimberley’s mum, added: “The property should not have been let out before everything was sorted out. Surely the boiler would have been checked first. It’s ridiculous.”
Tracey White, managing director at South Anglia, said: “We apologise to Miss Hamilton for this issue and will make sure that she and her daughter are as comfortable as possible while these repairs are carried out. We have offered her hotel accommodation and are working urgently to find her a suitable two bedroom home.”
