A LORRY hitting a pylon in Grays caused train problems in Essex this evening.
Ockenden branch trains towards London had to stop short or were diverted to Upminster as a result.
Some trains on the route were cancelled, with all country-bound trains being diverted through Basildon.
The disruption lasted until 10pm.
A spokesman for c2c said: "Trains were delayed between Barking and Grays this evening after a lorry struck overhead wires, causing power and signalling problems.
"We have worked with Network Rail to restore services as soon as possible, and apologise to all passengers who have been affected by the incident."
Meanwhile, there were delays on Greater Anglia services from Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street due to a trespasser at Gidea Park station.
