Charity Cambridge-Southend bike ride called off because of weather
10:24am Friday 22nd March 2013 in Echo News
A CHARITY bike ride due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled because of predicted poor weather.
The British Heart Foundation Cambridge to Southend ride was called off after organisers learned about potential freezing conditions.
The annual 75-mile trip was predicted to raise £45,000.
The event will be rescheduled for April 6 and all participants automatically re-registered.
Melanie Blackman, the event organiser, said: “The health and safety of our participants is our paramount concern and the expected conditions would make it impossible for us to guarantee the safety of the cyclists.
“We therefore took the decision to postpone the ride on this occasion.”

sorry but it should raise the same amount of money. when people sponsor they look at the charity that need the money not what silly event going on now. let hope they people still pay out. I would
