A SOUTH Essex firm has been playing its part on promoting the London Underground - to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
Full Spectrum, on Bowlers Croft, Basildon, has been working alongside Pioneer Print Solutions to produce the posters to celebrate the opening of the world’s first underground, on January 10, 1953.
The celebration of the tube’s history peaked yesterday when the Queen visited the underground with the the Duchess of Cambridge to celebrate reaching the milestone.
Lee Hammond, joint director of Full Spectrum, said the company was delighted to be involved in the project.
He said: “We made hundreds of posters and pop-ups to go on the underground and it is nice to know your handiwork has gone into marking 150 years of the Tube. It is a vital part of the City and everyone at the company was pleased to help.”
On her tour the Queen and Duchess saw a restored 1892 underground coach and meet staff involved in the restoration project.
Mr Hammond added: “Hopefully the Queen saw one of our posters.”
