Police appeal after accident
3:24pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in Echo News
POLICE are appealing for the driver of a car to come forward following an accident where a ten-year-old boy suffered injuries.
Officers believe the male driver may not even have been aware the accident happened when he drove away.
PHe had been in a dark car in Ferry Road, Hullbridge, during the middle of the school run when he waved a cyclist across the road behind his car.
The car then appears to have rolled back slightly causing the ten year old schoolboy to fall from his cycle causing minor injuries to his hand.
It happened at about 8.40am on March 3 at the junction with High Elms Road.
Police are keen for the driver to contact PC Rob Bray at the Southern Road policing unit via 101 quoting ref 463164.

PHe ?
Based on the information which the article divulges, assumptions can be made that -
The driver is a nice guy, with consideration for other road users.
The kid is fine, nor more hurt that he would be in a playground accident.
The police have nothing better to do & there are not more serious 'criminals' in Essex that this guy.
1/ Yes
2/ Yes
3/ If it is reported to them, they are duty bound to investigate the circumstances.
My own ASSUMPTION, One of the school teachers reported it ‘to cover their backs' and ensure the school was in no way held responsible

I can understand it can be difficult getting the number plate because you might be standing side, but come on, if some one has identified the colour, what about the make.

That doesn't make sense, why would he wave a cyclist across the road behind his car?? Surely once he has passed the cyclist its the driver behind him that would wave the cyclist across??

He failed to stop and report the accident, an offence.

2/ I live near a school. There are lots of houses nearby. I see lots ‘single men’ driving nearby at ‘school run time’ They are going to work. Some of them even to the school, because they are teachers.!

No-one is going to be charged with any offence.

It must be quite diffulcult to stop for an accident that in the words of the police " The driver may not be aware the accident even happened " !

The best thing in case would probably be the driver gets a lecture from the police about using a the handbrake because that’s the main cause of roll backs laziness.
And guy should buy the kid a video game or something to show remorse.

Was it a Lamborghini Gallardo by any chance? If so, the upstanding citizens of Canvey have likely taught him a lesson.
