Fire crews called to Benfleet house blaze

FIRE crews were called to a blaze that broke out at a Benfleet home tonight.
The fire broke out at about 5.15pm in a semi-detached house in Cumberland Avenue.
When the 10 firefighers arrived, they found the house completely shrouded in smoke, as a man in his 20s was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Crews managed to get the fire under control and fully extinguished by 6pm.
