You lot make this guy sound like Dale Cregan.

Essex Public enemy number one James 'Jimmy' Gray.

I'm sure he deserves to go to prison but unless I'm missing something he has not done anything really serious like murder, rape or such ? So there should be other criminals you guys should be after.

* We are still waiting to find out what happened to the c2c flasher ?

I've heard it all now, just because there are worse criminals out there, we should give this 'thief and assaulter' a break.

Do you know this guy by any chance..........

Reminds me of the time an idiot I knew said 'you couldn't meet a nicer guy' about a burglar who used to torture people. Nice!

MrButcher I wrote "I'm sure he deserves to go to prison..."

So why do you say "I've heard it all now, just because there are worse criminals out there, we should give this 'thief and assaulter' a break." ?

Yes but this guy is regularly in this paper, they have been following his 'hunt' for months & months. I remember the excitement at christmas because there was a 'sighting' in grays.

I could be wrong but as far as im aware he had not done anything really serious (ie rape or murder or big violent robbery). Surely there are other more dangerous criminals in south east essex.

The echo have turned James 'Jimmy' Gray into the Al Capone of Tilbery, public enemy number 1. I admit I could be missing something but to me he seems like countless other nuisances to society in the area so why constantly single him out.

LMAO. The issue isn't that he hasn't done those, the issue is that he HAS done some nasty things. How on earth does even a simple mind come up with 'He only beat people up and thieved so he isn't that bad of a bloke. It isn't like he's a murderer or rapist.'

Trying to use a scale of how bad someone is to justify that a wanted criminal isn't THAT bad. I've heard it all now.

People who steal are scum, and in circumstances can ruin innocent peoples lives. This guys has 8 counts against him, not counting the ones that haven't been reported! Only a family member, friend or the thief in question would argue that 'there should be other criminals you guys should be after.'

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

I think ALL local wanted criminals should have their pictures online, especially thugs and thieves. Let's face it, murders and rapists are dealt with by crimewatch.

Any article like this is a good thing, as it might just mean one less person mugged or beaten up!

Well I think the police should be looking for whoe ever is doing all these breakins chadwell purfleet grays it rife. Never use to have as many as this as thurrock grows with our new 10000 new residents so does our crime our congestion.

Aveley is also a crime hotspot at the moment. Aggravated burglary, car thefts, normal burglars, shops being robbed. The 90 year old woman getting robbed in her own home was sickening.

It is a sad fact that the bigger and more diverse Thurrock gets, the worse it seems to be.

That's not really true!, i've lived here all my life and its never been any different.

I can't talk for Purfleet or Chadwell, but Aveley never has been a crime hotspot. Now, we are in fear of aggravated burglary and car theft.

Crimes like assault and theft may not sound like much of a crime compared to murder or rape, but offenders of 'lesser crimes' seem to be far more active. One scumbag could easily ruin 100's of lives before getting caught (if at all), so apparently having gangs of career criminals on your doorstep isn't exactly much fun.

In this internet age, every single community should have their own crimewatch style website where all of these crimes can be discussed. Police.uk is great at informing us how dangerous the area is to live in, but not much else!

No!,what i am saying is thurrock has always had a high crime rate, and all this rosy "it didn't happen in my day is counter productive.".And its quite funny that when someone has an opinion that you do not agree with they seem to be talking out of their arse, shows a touch of intolerance to others,Which,is also a problem with todays society.

I think you will find what's wrong is people are to. Tolerant. What this society needs is tougher instance punishments. Like in america someones in your house is percived as a threat so you should be able to attack the theif an not have to wait for the police

I have no problem at all with tough sentences, our nanny state is the real root of our problems, the punishment should fit the crime.
