THE A127 was closed for three hours last night after a car hit the central reservation and flipped over on to its roof.
The driver, a 25-year-old man, suffered cuts and bruises after the accident on the London-bound carriageway at the Nevendon junction at 5.30pm..
His Ford Focus is believed to have hit the central reservation on the bridge over the roundabout at the A132, which is where traffic was diverted around in order to get around the crash scene.
The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and repairs were carried out to the central reservation, which caused huge delays at rush hour on both sides of the busy carriageway.
It was eventually reopened at 8.25pm.
