Chaos as A127 is closed for three hours after crash
6:46pm Tuesday 19th February 2013 in Echo News
THE A127 was closed for three hours last night after a car hit the central reservation and flipped over on to its roof.
The driver, a 25-year-old man, suffered cuts and bruises after the accident on the London-bound carriageway at the Nevendon junction at 5.30pm..
His Ford Focus is believed to have hit the central reservation on the bridge over the roundabout at the A132, which is where traffic was diverted around in order to get around the crash scene.
The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and repairs were carried out to the central reservation, which caused huge delays at rush hour on both sides of the busy carriageway.
It was eventually reopened at 8.25pm.

Should be 3 lanes each way.
Make it as many lanes as you like, the standard of driving I see everyday is shocking!
Driver training needs to be better and the test harder. Driving is a privilege, not a right.....

Cue pro camera people saying something like at least he not dead or he would be with out the cameras being there...
Against will be didnt work for him then did it...
But looking at the time of night it happened I doubt very much if he was above 50mph let alone 70mph
So... driving standard is poor at best most of us agree but to be fair we dont know what happened it may have been mechanical failure.
Lets all agree its good it was not a fatal RTC

so the Nevendon junction if I remember is still inside the SPECs camera zone. Cue pro camera people saying something like at least he not dead or he would be with out the cameras being there... I'd rather have a delay for a closed road than read about a member of the emergency services being injured or killed because they had to contend with traffic as well as assisting in an emergency.
Why does Essex Police close the road every time there's a little crash? Can't they just push the wreckage to one side and get on with it? As for waiting for repairs to the barriers - do it at night - theere are no barriers on single carriageways so it's not that important.
