Man threatened with a baseball bat

A ROBBER threatened a man in the street with a baseball bat.

He approached his victim at the junction of Frobisher Way and Midsummer Meadow, Southend, and threatened him with the weapon.

He then demanded money from the man, who is in his fifties but he refused to hand any over.

An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "He refused and said he didn't have any and the suspect left."

The incident happened at about 6.50pm on Tuesday February 12.

The suspect is described as white, aged 16 to 20, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, wearing dark coloured clothing with a hood.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Paul Gutteridge on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Shoebury is really going down hill! Having to walk past these roads when I need to go to asda or even my friends house, which is right near this junction, it does scare me, especially having 2 young children.
