ONE man was arrested and another was fined as police stormed a troubled towerblock during a series of Valentine’s Day raids.

A team of around 15 officers bashed down the doors of four flats at Brooke House in Basildon’s Town Square on Thursday as part of their continued war on drug dealing and abuse at the landmark.

Following tip-offs about the dealing of Class A and B drugs in various properties at the towerblock, police raided four homes yesterday morning.

Acting at the same time, four teams of officers simultaneously bashed down the doors of flats on floors two, three, five and eight.
In two of the flats they found cannabis, leading one man to be arrested and another to be given an £80 on-the-spot fine.

The move came just months after a blitz on drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour at the tower block last Summer, which saw 80 needles cleared up from the underground car park area in just one night.
