Tourettes teen sings her way to success

A TEENAGER, who suffers from Tourettes Syndrome, has made it through to the finals or a prestigious talent contest.
 

Emily Carter, 16, from Battlesbridge in Wickford, has Tourettes Syndrome, which is a neurological condition where sufferers have involuntary verbal or physical tics.
 

She previously starred in the BBC programme Tourettes, Let me Entertain You last year, about people who suffer from the condition.
 

But now, despite her condition denting her confidence, Emily has made it through to the regional finals of the TeenStar contest.
Set up for youngsters, the talent contest aims to find the UK’s best singers, songwriters, rappers and vocatlists.
 

Emily, who attends Brentwood School, has made it to the regional final and is hoping to win at place in the national final which will be held at London’s O2 arena.
 

The regional finals of the competition will take place at London’s Palace Theatre on Sunday March 17.
