DOG sledding is not a usual family past time but the Le Fevre’s are top of their game winning awards at Europe's largest Sled Dog Race.
The Arden Grange Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain Aviemore Sled Dog Race 2013 was held and Lorraine Le Fevre, 43, Darren, 46, and son Joseph, 11, scooped six wins.
Following several days intense training in the Cairngorm mountains, both Lorraine and Darren won their respective classes in the three dog and four dog team mixed breed classes.
Joseph, who attends King Edmund School in Rochford, narrowly missed out but secured second place in the J1 Junior class with his trusty dog Jedeye, a black pure bred Siberian Husky, whose parents are International race winners.
Lorraine said; "It was a fantastic result for all of us, particularly our son Joseph as this was his first ever race on snow."
The family are former champions and veterans of the event. The annual event attracts over 200 sled dogs teams and their families from all over the country, as well as 2,000 or so dogs forming the teams of pure bred Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Canadian Eskimos & Samoyeds.
The race takes place along a four to 7.5 mile hilly forest trail from a start line at the base of the Cairngorm Mountains, past the picturesque Loch Morlich in Glenmore forest.
