12:07pm Sunday 27th January 2013 in Echo News By David Trayner
BURGLARS have made off with jewellery and a Russian-made pocket watch from a break-in.
Thieves broke into a house in St Vincents Road, Westcliff, on Friday afternoon.
Items stolen in the break-in, which which took place between 1.50pm and 3.50pm, included two silver bracelets, a silver necklace, a silver hair clasp, two gold sovereign pendants and one gold half sovereign pendant and a gun metal Russian-made pocket watch with a hammer and sickle design on the lid.
PC Paul Gutteridge said: "Some of the items stolen are very distinctive and we would like to hear from anyone who may come across them."
Thieves got into the house through a glass panel beside the front door they smashed.
Police believe they climbed out of a front bay window to the house to get out.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has been offered similar items for sale can call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
