FLAMBOYANT X Factor finalist Rylan Clark came home to Basildon to celebrate the first birthday of his godson Beaux- the son of 2 Shoes star Charley Bird.

Rylan, who came fifth in the ITV1 talent show, slotted in a visit to Partyman World to join the celebrations with Charley, her family and Beaux’s godmother and his mum’s bandmate Lucy Texeira.

The down-to-earth star was obviously tired after flying in from Glasgow earlier that day and he popped into the Repton Close venue on his way down to Bournemouth to do a meet and greet and sing at a club.

He was mobbed by friends and family of Charley who all went to the soft play centre who were all there to celebrate the special birthday for little Beaux- who has an X at the end of his name to celebrate Charley being in the show last year.

Rylan said: “I am so pleased to be here with Beaux because he is my godson and so important to me. “He has started learning to walk and seeing him take a few steps has been amazing to see because I have not seen him for a while.

“I love coming home and it’s great to be here and my schedule is crazy and literally non-stop all over the country. It is really tiring but this is what I wanted and has just been great since I came off the show.

“I had a great time on the show and it has just been an amazing opportunity, I never for one minute thought I would get so far and am really thankful to be here doing what I am doing.”

Rylan has been friends with Lucy since they were at school and met Charley about three years ago and he said he was honoured to be given the role.

He also patiently spent time signing autographs for all the youngsters and having his picture taken with everyone who asked for one.

Rylan, who was more famous for his outfits and dance moves on the X Factor, said he was very much looking forward to the tour next year with travels round the whole country.

When asked about a record deal he said that he couldn’t comment but loved singing and that he wanted to continue.

He added: “There have been lots of rumours about Big Brother and I am not one of these people to say anything until it is definite but all I can say is that I love the show and if I was offered the opportunity I woudn’t turn it down.”

Lucy described Rylan as her “gay husband” and said that life after the X Factor is a rollercoaster and that it was lovely to see him in the middle of his busy schedule.

Charley, who lives with her partner Greg Phillips in Basildon, added: “It has been great to see Rylan here for Beaux’s party. Lucy and I know how busy you are after the show and it’s lovely to see him.

"We have had a great time at the party and having him has been the cherry on the cake for everyone.”
