TWO students were robbed at knifepoint on Southend seafront in broad daylight.

The boy and girl were walking along Pier Hill at about 3pm on Saturday, November 3.

As they approached the base of the lift, they were approached by three thugs.

They threatened the girl with a knife, before stealing her mobile telephone. The boy was punched after he tried to intervene. They then ran off.

The robbers are described as boys are aged in their late teens, they were skinny build and about 5ft 10ins tall.

One was wearing a grey beanie hat with two tears on the front, has short-fair hair, was wearing a light hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.

Another was wearing a light-blue hoodie and jogging bottoms while the third accomplice was wearing a dark-blue jacket, light-grey tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and a dark baseball cap.

Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
