With crackling bonfires, crunchy toffee apples, warm clothing and, of course, blazing trails of sparkling fireworks across the sky, everyone loves a bonfire night celebration.

But with so many going on, it can be hard to choose which one to take your family to for the evening. To help, we’ve rounded up some of the best in the area so you can pick one at your leisure.

Noak Hill Golf Club Fireworks Display Noak Hill Road, Billericay Friday, November 2, 6pm

A top night for all the family. There will be burgers, hot dogs, jacket potatoes, mulled wine, and hot chocolate available. There’s also a prize for the best guy. Billericay Round Table Fireworks Display Lake Meadows Park, Radford Way, Billericay Saturday, November 3, 5.30pm This annual event returns as spectacular as ever in its 43rd year. A huge bonfire and a £20,000 firework display will make sure the night goes with a bang.

There will be a live roadshow provided by Heart FM, with hosts Martin and Su lined up to introduce some special guests. Food and drink will be available and one or two surprises. Pre-sale tickets from venues listed on website are £6 and £4 concessions, online tickets are £6.50 and £4.50 concessions, and on the gate £7 and £5 concessions. Entry is free to under fives. Big Beach Bang East Beach, Shoebury Saturday, November 3, 6pm Thousands will be flocking to East Beach for Southend Round Table 106’s enormous annual fireworks display. There’ll be a DJ, fun fair and lots more. With money being raised for charity, it’s a great chance to do some good deeds as well. Tickets are £5 and free entry for under fives. Belchamps Fireworks Display and Bonfire Scout Activity Centre, Holyoak Lane, Hockley Saturday, November 3, 6pm The organisation is throwing its biggest fireworks display plus a huge bonfire. There’ll be stalls and sideshows and music from Two of a Kind, along with refreshments. Admission is £5 adults, £4 children aged three to 15 and free entry for under threes. Orsett Showground Bonfire and Fireworks Display Rectory Road, Thurrock Sunday, November 4, and Monday, November 5, 5.30pm As well as the regular bonfire and impressive fireworks, there’s all the fun of the fair to be enjoyed for the two days. Admission is £6, £2 for children under five, and free for pensioners.

Firework Spectacular Southend seafront, Southend Saturday, November 3, 8pm Regular seafront fireworks displays come to a climax with a spectacular display along the seafront and over Southend Pier. Free entry.

St Katherine’s Church of England Primary School Hilton Road, Canvey Island Monday, November 5, 6.45pm This professionally produced event will see fireworks, a barbecue, refreshments and light toys on offer. Advance tickets are £4.50 adults, £2.50 concessions or £11.50 family ticket. On the night tickets are £5.50 adults, £3 concessions and £14 family ticket. Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School, Bilton Road, Hadleigh Friday, November 9, 5.30pm There’ll be fireworks at the joint display of Hadleigh Infants, Hadleigh Juniors and Westwood Academy, as well as plenty of other treats including burgers, hotdogs, drinks, sweets and toffee apples. Hamstel Infant and Juniors (Hamstel Road, Southend on Sea) have a great firework display on Saturday. Gates open at 17:30 and the display begins at 19:00. £4 in advance and £5 on the gate. Great displays every year!
