If someone ever tried to do that to me, no matter how big or hard they were, I would not let them take my phone. I would fight to the very end. Prefrably killing the person trying to mug me.

no-one's ever wanted to steal my mobile phone. Maybe because a)it's a basic, cheap Nokia with no bells and whistles not an iPhone worth over 400 quid and b) I don't spend every waking moment waving it about for everyone to see.

It's simple really, if you don't want to get duffed up for your must have,achingly hip street cred 400 quid status symbol then keep it in yer pocket

Good point Eric. Everyone is on the phone everywhere now. Wherever you go, at any time of day or night, people are yacking away to other people. Meandering slowly on pavements, oblivious to anyone else around them, all consumed in the little world of the mobile phone. I have seen people step onto zebra crossings without even looking up as they amble along, texting or checking an app. God, one girl made an ambulance with flashing lights stop for her at a crossing because she was not paying attention to her surroundings. People really need to stop this right now - put them away and look where you're going and who's around you. There, rant over.

But in this day and age, everyone especially the younger generation, are on their phones. And why should you have to put your phone away for some lowlife scumbag to nick your pride and joy? The call you could be making at the time could be an important one, or the message you recieve could be congratulating you on your new job.

I see your point about people should be a little more aware, but usually common sense prevails in most cases and they will look when crossing a road.

Ive got an Iphone 4s, and i will continue to flout it until someone decides its my turn to be a victim. But oh boy, it be their worst mistake!

Like motorists are fined if they use a mobile while driving, so pedestrians should be fined if the cross a road while using a mobile.

Motorists fined for using a mobile? Don't make me laugh - I see dozens at it every day (van drivers are the worse) and the police do naff all about it!

That's because the cops are only out for the filming of Road Wars. Where I live, they are VERY rarely seen at night, let alone daylight.

Now we are being expected to 'Elect' some Nobody to get £60,000 pa for doing the Chief Constables job? I am NOT voting for Anyone.
