Woman arrested after crash closes road

A WOMAN has been arrested following a crash which knocked down a telegraph pole and closed off a road.
Police were called to Dunton Road, Laindon, at about 12.30am today following a crash where a Rover 25 left the road.
The road was cordoned off because a telegraph pole was left blocking the road. It was only re-opened later this afternoon after BT engineers had made it safe.
A 46-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.
She was later charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath and bailed to appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on November 15.
