X FACTOR judge Tulisa Contostavlos has been added to the line-up for this year’s V Festival.

The singer joins headliners the Stone Roses and the Killers at the two-day event in Chelmsford.

The Happy Mondays, fronted by Shaun Ryder, are also on the bill on August 18 and 19, along with Noel Gallagher – a fellow Mancunian who was inspired by the Roses – and his band High Flying Birds.

Sir Tom Jones, Snow Patrol and recent double Brit winner Ed Sheeran will perform, as will US singer Nicki Minaj and homegrown stars Tinie Tempah, Example and Olly Murs.

Veteran acts Human League, Madness, the Proclaimers and the Stranglers will also play.

Last year saw performances from the Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, Rihanna and Plan B, as well as a host of other international stars.

As well as music, festival-goers enjoyed other attractions, including fairground rides, stalls selling everything from ponchos to oxygen, a comedy club and a wide variety of food, which included ostrich burgers.

The annual festival is a regular haunt for local celebrities and last year, Brentwood’s Pixie Lott was seen at the event with her mum, Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton, from Wickford, made an appearance, as well as stars from the Only Way is Essex.

The festival, now in its 17th year, is run across Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park in Staffordshire.
