A MAN has been charged following a knife-point street robbery which happened in broad daylight.
Chaz Jarvis, 21, is alleged to have robbed Anton Copley in Woodgrange Drive, Southend, on Wednesday morning. [OCT 10]
He is alleged to have approached his victim and demanded his valuables, before pulling out a three or four inch blade.
It is alleged the incident happened at about 10.55am as the victim left the Woodgrange estate.
Jarvis, of Tennyson Avenue, appeared in the dock at Southend Magistrates Court still dressed in the red tracksuits handed out in police custody.
He cried when he saw his relatives sitting in the public gallery to offer support.
He was charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and robbery.
Jarvis was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on January 3.
