Woman found dead at Westcliff towerblock

A WOMAN has been found dead at a towerblock in Westcliff.
Police were called to Brecon flats, in Salisbury Avenue, after the woman’s body was discovered on Thursday evening. [Oct 4]
Police said they are not treating it as suspicious, but they have arrested a man separately on suspicion of drugs offences.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said: “The ambulance service called police at around 9.45pm following the death of a woman in her 40s at a flat in Salisbury Avenue, Westcliff.
“Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to her death but are not treating it as suspicious at this time.
“Police later arrested a 34-year-old man from Rayleigh on suspicion of drug offences.”
Police would not say whether he was being questioned on suspicion of possession or supply of drugs.
They said a post-mortem examination is now due to take place.
