A HEAVILY pregnant woman and two other hotel guests had to climb out of a lift to safety in the early hours of the morning.
Fire crews from Southend were called at 2.20am today, Sunday, after the lift at the Park Inn Hotel, in Church Road, got stuck between floors.
However the carriage was jammed and refused to budge, so firefighters put up a ladder and helped the trapped trio up through the lift roof and onto the next floor.
No one was hurt.
The woman was checked over by an ambulance team at the scene.
