Efit of a man suspected of burgling a Westcliff home
POLICE have issued an efit of a man suspected of burgling an elderly woman's home as she slept.
The woman in her 70s woke to the sound of rustling and saw a man rifling through her handbag at the side of her bed.
She shouted at him and he fled the house with the bag containing a three figure sum of money,
Investigating Officer, Dc Samantha Winter, said: "This woman was left devastated by this burglary, but she is now on the road to recovery and hoping that this man is caught. We want people to take a good, close look at the efit and contact us with a name so that we can arrest him and provide some form of reassurance to this dear old lady.”
The break-in happened at a bungalow in Mendip Crescent, Westcliff shortly after midnight on Saturday, August 18.
The man in the efit is described as white, aged in his early 30s, of slim build, approximately 5ft 6ins tall and was smartly dressed in a white shirt and trousers at the time.
