Southend road closures for Battle of Britain parade

ROADS in central Southend will be closed temporarily to allow a parade to take place.
Southend Council is putting in the restrictions for the Battle of Britain event on Sunday, September 16.
From 10.30am to 11.30am and from 12.30pm until 1.30pm, the following roads will be closed: Chancellor Road – the left turn lane at the junction with Church Road, Church Road from the Chancellor Road junction to the High Street, Royal Terrace from the Clifton Terrace junction to the High Street and the whole of Pier Hill.
Church Road from St John’s Church to the High Street and Royal Terrace from Clifton Terrace to the High Street will have “no stopping” orders from 10am until 1pm.
Vehicles belonging to Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust, St John Ambulance, HM Coast Guard and the RNLI are not affected by the temporary road closures or “no stopping” zones.
RAF Association members, ATC band and veterans will march to St John’s Church for a service to commemorate the Battle of Britain.
