A WOMAN was left with a cut hand after a cyclist tried to rob her.

The 51-year-old victim was in North Street, Westcliff, when the man pedalled across the pavement at her.

She dodged out of the way, but he tried to grab her purse from her hand.

In the struggle she cut one of her knuckles but managed to keep hold of her purse.

The robber was black, about 30, and quite stocky. He had tight curly hair which was reddish brown, woreblue geens and a khaki polo shirt, and was riding a small light blue bike.
