A WOMAN who swapped gymnastics for looking gorgeous for a living is hoping to be crowned Miss England – and wants your vote.
Pascal Craymer, 23, from Leigh, was a member of the British junior gymnastics squad and represented her country until a knee injury forced her to give up the sport, aged 16.
Now a professional model, Pascal was crowned Miss Southend, and will take on 59 other women for the title of Miss England, with the winner announced on September 1.
The former pupil of Deanes School, Rayleigh, said: “This is the biggest competition I have ever gone for and it’s the first time Southend has been represented. I am so excited.”
All the contestants are undertaking charity challenges and will also be assessed on a range of skills. Pascal hopes her gymnastics talents will stand her in good stead.
If Pascal is successful, she will take part in this year’s Miss World competition, in China, in October.
The Miss England finals will be broadcast on the Active Channel, on Sky channel 281, on September 1.
From July 30 until 6pm on September 1, people can vote for who they want to win.
To vote for Pascal, text 24MissSouthendOnSea to 81118, or call 0901 2937900 and press 24 when prompted.
Votes cost £1 and 15p from each vote will be donated to the Variety Club charity.
