A TECHNOLOGY company has raised £13,000 for Havens Hospice after taking on the national Three Peaks Challenge.

16 staff members from Utilize Plc climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in less than 24 hours, in support of the hospice which has been named as their charity partner for the next three years.

Guy Hocking, group managing director for the company said the climbs were "one of the most fulfilling challenges" he'd completed.

He said: “The importance of the care the Havens team give the local community spurred us on to not only complete our climb, but also smash our fundraising target of £10,000 – raising a phenomenal £3,000 extra.

"I want to say a big well done to all the team and thank you to them and everyone who has supported us and helped us raise money for this worthy cause.”

Emma Hamilton, challenge events fundraiser for Havens Hospices, added: “On behalf of everyone at Havens Hospices I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the Utilize Three Peaks Team - we have to raise over £100,000 every week to be able to care and support everyone we do across our hospice services; the £13,000 raised by Utilize will mean that we can continue fulfilling our promise of ‘Making every day count’ for those with life-limiting illnesses and their families.”
