A WOMAN living with cancer has shaved her head for charity.
Gillian Nelson, 51, from Canvey shaved her hair off and donated it to the Little Princess Trust, a charity supporting children with hairloss after cancer or other illnesses.
She lost her long locks on Thursday June 14.
She has also raised more than one thousand pounds for Cancer Research and Little Havens Hospice.
A year ago Gillian decided that she would raise awareness for cancer, she was diagnosed herself with cancer in 2015 with a rare blood cancer called Essential Thrombocytosis and has had treatment ever since.
She said the cancer won't shorten her life but can affect her but she has learnt to live with the condition.
So far Gillian has raised more than £1,500 for both charities.
She said thank to everyone who has donated or even put spare change in the charity pots at work because every penny counts and together one day there will be a cure for all cancers.
She said on the funding page: "We all know someone who has lost their life, loved ones or who are fighting with all their might, any donation made will be grateful and much appreciated. Thank you to anyone who donates."
