LABOUR gained two seats in Basildon at a by election last night after two councillors stepped down.
The party took hold of Lee Chapel North and Pitsea South East.
UKIP’s José Carrion resigned from his Pitsea South East seat and Labour’s Alan Bennett resigned from his position in Lee Chapel North.
Kayode Adeniran, was elected for Lee Chapel North with 612 votes and in Pitsea South East, Andrew Ansell received the most votes with 718 at the polls.
Kayode said this is the third time he has been up for election and his priorities are community and education.
Andrew he's over the moon, and pledged to work on a public toilet in Pitsea and other issues.
