A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Chelmsford.
Police were called to Cromar Way just before 1am this morning.
A man in his 40s was found severely injured at the scene. Just after 2am, he was sadly pronounced dead at hospital.
Three men, aged 40, 53, and 59, and a 53-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 53-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
An alleyway near Meteor Way has been closed as part of our investigation and may impact pedestrians in the area or those attending Essex County Cricket Club.
