CAR enthusiasts flocked to the south Essex coast for a classic car show event.

Southend and District Classic Car Club held an annual event on Southend seafront.

The visitors enjoyed spending Father’s Day marvelling at the impressive display.

Nick Jones, from the club, said: “After a damp start, about 100 classic cars dating from 1920s to the 1990s turned out for a pleasant gathering.

“The cars were viewed by the public who enjoy the displays.

“This is the fifth year and the event has proved to gain ever more popular by the classic car owners and public alike.

“The shows take place on the third Sunday in the months of March, April, May, June, August, September, and October.

“We classic car owners often hear the words that was my first car, my mum or dad had one of those, but they always have a smile on their faces as they remember the journeys in past times.

“And of course it give us owners great pleasure.”

The events are hosted by Southend Council and organised by The Southend and District Classic Car Club.
