A MAN has been taken to hospital after having a fall.
Despite original reports that he had been hit by a car in Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet, the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed there were no vehicles involved.
An air ambulance was also seen landing in nearby Tarpots Recreation Ground.
A spokesman said: "We received a call at 8.24am to reports of a man who had passed out in Rushbottom Lane, Thundersley.
"The East of England Ambulance Service Trust dispatched two ambulance crews and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance to the scene where they treated a man in his 70’s who had taken a fall into the road, no cars were involved.
"The man was taken Queens Hospital by road for further care."
