BASILDON Golf Club raised an impressive £710 by hosting a charity day in aid of St Luke's Hospice.
The event attracted 68 golfers, with 34 beginners getting involved.
And Lorraine Cooper, the lady captain at the club, was pleased with how the day went.
She said: "We had a fantastic day at the golf course and we raised a final figure of £710.
"Special thanks must go to Club Kingswood, Tranquility Beauty, The Waterfront Bar Bistro, The Cutt Inn Hairdressers and Langley Park Golf for their generous gift donations.
"We must also thank our sponsors, Basildon Stone Ltd, who bought our new ladies golf kit."
The winners were Claire and Dean Parratt, while Harriet Longman and Simon Brown claimed the runners-up slot.
Kevin and Matt Lockwood completed the top three.
Beginners golf lessons are available at Basildon Golf Club, who are keen to welcome golfers young and old.
The club are looking to host another charity day later this year.
