A CARE home held a special open day event to mark a national event.
Gifford House Care Home, London Road, Bowers Gifford invited the public to go into the home to see how it works to mark National Care Home Open Day.
The care home held a range of entertainment, including a challenge where they had to create food from around the Commonwealth.
The home chose to create dishes including the UK and India for the guests to enjoy during the event.
There were various special guests including Conservative MP Stephen Metcalfe, who represents South Basildon and East Thurrock.
The home is also undergoing a development which will see an extra 40 beds at the home.
Guests were able to look around the development which is in the building stages.
A spokesman for the home said the event was a success and a chance for residents and guests to have fun.
