PUPILS celebrated with a day of fun after inspectors confirmed the school was improving.

Holt Farm Junior School, Ashingdon Road, Rochford, received a good rating from Ofsted.

The school had previously been told it should improve and it has.

Headteacher Lucy Wass said: “I am really proud of the school team.

“It was fantastic to celebrate the outcomes from our recent inspection with the children, parents, PTA and governing body.

“Our celebration included a whole school song and dance of ‘This is us’ inspired by ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman.

“Onwards and upwards for Holt Farm Junior School as we now continue our journey to outstanding.”

A coffee morning was enjoyed by the adults while children took part in dodgeball, martial arts, bootcamp and street dance activities.

Inspector Russell Ayling said: “The headteacher’s passionate and focused determination to raise standards has led to a rapid improvements in the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.

“Pupils enjoy the school.

“Their attitudes to learning are good and they show respect and courtesy towards one another in class and around the school.

“The school’s core values are well understood, reflected in daily routines and relationships and promoted around the school in the highly effective presentations and displays.”
