A SIX-year-old girl has cut off 30cm of her hair for an important children’s charity.

Summer Cause, who lives in Southend, wanted to get a sponsored haircut to raise money for Little Princess Trust.

The charity makes beautiful wigs from real hair and donates them free of charge to children suffering from hair loss due to cancer or alopecia.

The Hamstel Infant School pupil was inspired after watching a DVD with her mum, Stevie Compton, about the charity and what it does.

Her mum said: “I couldn’t be more proud!”

Summer had 30cm of her hair cut to make a wig and she has raised £400, which is enough to make two wigs for other children.

Summer loves her new short hair cut.
