An 11-year-old boy who has been told he will be lucky to make it to his teens has written up a bucket list of activities he would like to do.

Dean Lambert, from North Stifford, suffers from an extremely rare condition called Mulibrey Nanism.

The condition, which affects a person’s muscles, liver, brain and eye function and causes dwarfism, is so rare that it is only found in 116 people worldwide.

In addition to this ailment, Dean has brittle bone syndrome.

Because of both conditions, Dean has broken five bones in two years and was forced to undergo heart surgery six years ago.

In total, Dean has had 18 operations.

After the doctors told Dean’s family he does not have long left to live, his sister-in-law, Nicola Lambert, decided to sit him down and help him write a bucket list.

Nicola, 29, said: “The doctors told us that he will be lucky to make it to his teens.

“So, on New Year’s Day, I sat down with Dean and made this list. I asked him he wants to do the most in the world and we wrote his ideas down.

“It’s my aim to tick off as many of these as we can.”

Dean wrote down 14 activities on his wish list, including being a postman for the day and seeing his brother’s old modified car again which he sold a few years ago.

So far, one of his wishes has been granted – he will be visiting Silverstone to see Lewis Hamilton race on July 8 – and others are looking promising, such as watching an live Arsenal game.

Watch Dean find out he is going to a Formula One Grand Prix to see Lewis Hamilton race:

Nicola married Dean’s brother, Richard, last year and has known Dean since the pair first got together nine years ago.

She said: “I have known him since he was two and I have been to all the operations with him.

“He is my brother-in-law, but he is like a brother to me.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Dean's bucket list wishes come true and it has already exceeded it's £2,000 goal since it was set up two weeks ago.
