A BASILDON school has maintained its “good” rating.

St Anne Line Catholic Junior School in Wickhay was inspected on November 22 for the first time since 2013, and was praised for maintaining high standards.

The school was judged to have effective safeguarding and the leadership at the school was praised for consistent hard work.

The schools “beehive nurture base” where vulnerable children receive special care and support was also highly commended.

The report said: “The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.

“Your leadership is passionate and effective.”

In order to improve further, the school was instructed to increase consistency in pupils’ progress between subjects and to monitor the impact of new initiatives to check they have the desired impact.
